About Teneo
Teneo IoT was founded in March 2016 by Inou Heideman and Erik Prange with the goal of making organisations and companies smarter, and above all more fun, by applying Internet of Things.
Examples of developed solutions include among others smart waste management, monitoring young trees, air quality measurement, remote monitoring and switching of lighting, making the risk of legionella growth in water pipes transparent and even smart rollators.
With a young and innovative team of ten people we aim to provide accessible IoT applications and solutions for a wide range of users. A key design requirement is low power consumption of the sensors, so customers can use them for several years on a single battery (LoRaWAN technology).
Owing to our partnerships with universities of applied sciences and our innovative character, we are a genuinely forward‑looking company. Most of our staff work on various research‑and‑development projects, focusing on developing new products and improving existing ones.

Wireless
Most of the wireless data communication from Teneo sensors currently uses LoRaWAN. LoRaWAN is a low‑power wide‑area network; because of its low power consumption and long range it is ideally suited to the Internet of Things.
